Does inbreeding or linebreeding to In Reality (in this case sex balanced 3x3) have any history of success?
How about nicks between In Reality and Man O War or War Relic?
Thanks,
Laurie

There have been a lot of nice runners inbred to In Reality including some very good ones. Banshee Breeze (4x3), Empire Maker (4x3), Glitterwoman (3x3), Unbridled Elaine (5x3) and G1 winner in PR, Mi Jesuse (74 starts- 18 wins) (3x5)

Thanks for the examples, Bill and Brogers.

This will help tremendously with my research.

There was a pretty nice listed SW (G3-placed) mare named Infernos Reality in the Midwest for a while -- she was by Crafty Prospector out of a Believe It mare and so 3x3 sex-balanced to In Reality.

It seems some sons of In Reality have worked well and some havn't.My son of In Reality(Dignitas) has not worked well on In Reality line mares-I have bred him to a few Relaunch line mares with no success and another that has not had much success with him is his tail-female line family. What has worked well is mares by sons of Nijinsky II,Northern Dancer,Damascus and Seattle Slew. Also most of his honest runners are total outcrosses with no duplicates thru the 1st 4 generations-except for one daughter of Air Forbes Won that has produced Mr.Stress,Brawny and Western Miss(Dignitas is out of David's Tobin by Tobin Bronze and Air Forbes Won was out of a daughter of Tobin Bronze)-he has also been successful on the tail-female families of 14f-9e-1n-8c & 20a.

To JCBloodstock:
Thanks for the post. Did it make any difference whether the In Reality inbreeding was sex balanced? Did the best runners all have Northern Dancer blood as well as the inbreeding? You mentioned Damascus and Slew. How did they fit into the picture? Was 3x4 inbreeding more successful than 4x4 or 4x5 for example? Thanks
