considering these mares - opinions?

Postby graham » Mon Dec 12, 2005 9:14 pm

Hi Everyone,
I have a chance to get the following mares for broodmares. I can breed them to Texas City - (Mr. Prospector, out of Miss Betty) or Broad And Locust - (Broad Brush, out of Mz Zill Bear).

Mares:
Alpine Street - Little Missouri, out of My Sweet by Nodouble.
Finding - Sir Ivor, out of Mojave by Northern Dancer.
Sharp Shark - Crafty Friend, out of Fancy N Sharp by Sharpen Up.

I would appreciate any opinions, positive or negative.

Thanks, graham

I like Texas City with Alpine Street an Finding.
an I dont like the mare named Sharp Shark.
She's inbred to Raise A Native x's 3 just the thought of her makes me hunt my running shoes.
Thats just my opinion an just a short glance at them. others might like the other stallion with them.

IMHO 'Finding' (great pedigree, poor racing record, poor production) is worth a try with a great young stallion.
If you can afford him, I suggest North Light, standing in KY

I think North Light is a little out of her league. He is standing for 50k this year at Adena. I guess what I was really asking is if anyone likes any of the three mares being bred to either stallion. I am not breeding to sell, I just want to get a nice foal that I can run. I don't own any of the mares yet. I am trying to decide if any of them are worth taking a chance on. If anyone has an opinion, I am still listening.
Thanks for the reply,
graham
