STALLION SUGGESTIONS

I'm looking for a stallion in Kentucky in the 5 to 10K range for a RED RANSOM mare. She is out of GREAT IMPULSE by IMPERIAL FALCON. Any good ideas? There are two stallions that I currently like, ALJABR and BLACK MINNALOUSHE.

JFYI best if you post the mare's name and don't make everyone play the "guessing game" -- you will get more response that way

I, for one, am waay too tired to look up the sire and guess which mare you have.

I would avoid Aljabr. He really hasn't impressed much with his early crops which is a shame given his talent.

I personally kind of like Black Minnaloushe.

theatrical crosses very well with red ransom mares... maybe you can try to find a foal share or consider hap / royal anthem

Maybe a bit under your budget, but I like your mare with Bright Launch. Not so farfetched, her female family combined with similar elements to produce Ghostzapper.

Thanks for the replys. BRIGHT LAUNCH has not been considered. HAP and ROYAL ANTHEM have been. Fact is, the mare is currently in foal to ROYAL ANTHEM. He was selected after passing on HAP because Darby Dan Farm failed to return phone messages and emails. The thinking is to see the foal from ROYAL ANTHEM and then possibly return to HAP next year. As for BRIGHT LAUNCH, there is nothing wrong with being under budget. Hurstland Farm lists him at 5K and the Bloodhorse has him at 3.5K. I'll have to check it out. I have seen a nick report for RED RANSOM mares. The BRIGHT LAUNCH cross does show up once with the resulting horse named ROSE FOURTEEN. Have to check that out too. Thanks.

My mare is in foal to him due 3/10.. I cant wait!

Successful Appeal would get you the very successful Red Ransom/Valid Appeal cross, which gets a VGS of 28.02 based on 2 G1Ws and the chances of getting so extreme a score based on 2 G1Ws by chance is tiny (or less than the 0.3% to be specific)...

Also, Perfect Sting (one of the 2) was no slouch (even by the standard of G1Ws), to say the least...
