Affluent

Affluent had her first foal on February 27, 2006 a bay colt by Storm Cat. I am interested in hearing some opinions on this mating choice.

Well first, I'm quite prejudiced in favor of this mare and her maternal grandmother, who died all too young. Her connections are quite classy as well.

Second, if one is going to breed to Storm Cat, I like that the mating only produces inbreeding of 5x5 (Native Dancer) or 4x6 (Northern Dancer).

The mare and the sire, if they can overcome the Storm Cat knees and other issues, should be a great match up.

I hope it is a champion that keeps the memory and genes of Bayakoa alive forever!

BJ, I could not agree with you more. However I am wondering if she plans on keeping the foal or plans on selling him. I know she usually keeps most of her foals but I thinks she sells a few. Anyway I love the match up and hope he is a Champion.
