RandomThoughts,

I'd not be concerned about these Turkish stallions ending up 'in a stew pot'.
From photos and videos I've seen of them they've been well taken care of and many are into they're 20's now. They took good care of Manila for much of his life.

Here's a fantastic link for you. It's the Turkish JC stallion list for 2010, with tons of photos (it's in Turkish & English).

I inquired about Powerscourt in 2008 and was told that even though I'd be driving my mare 6 hours to get her covered (I'd be taking her home the same day) that if a "younger mare was 'in' on the same day that my mare may or may not get covered that day." They suggested that I get a hotel room and find a place to keep my mare. All of my mares foals to race have won races, one is stakes placed and sent to stud in Ireland, so she's a nice mare. I'll be honest, I will never do business with this farm and they will never get any of my mares. Needless to say I told them where they could go.

You know what's so funny is that they kind of laughed about my mare since she was 19 (even though she was a classy racehorse from a great family with lots of blacktype and produced runners including a stakes plcd horse) but they eagerly took an acquaintences mare with ZERO blacktype on her page, a horrible race record, major soundness issues and no proven foals. I don't get it. I'm not surprised they didn't send a brochure or anything on their stallions...I didn't get one either!

Our little fiasco was in 2008. We went to Swain and are sooo happy we did. I cannot say enough good things about the people at Shadwell.
