I think today solidified him as the top stallion prospect in the country.
His family is Darby Dan...I don't see how he can miss as a stallion.

Actually, his female family is what worries me the most. Don't get me wrong, it was a great clan once, but they've never produced more than an over-hyped regional stallion (albeit one I like).
I still put him behind Corinthian as the number one stallion prospect right now. I know people hate the Pulpit, but that fam! Wow!

My biggest doubts were all about heart for Hard Spun, although I confess I was surprised that he did not seem to get the longer distances as well as I originally thought he would. Today's race made it clear he has the speed (those early fractions were exhausting and he was right there on the leader) and the heart. He's a beautiful horse - he has the conformation. I don't know so much about the female family and that could be a significant weakness. All the top horses this year have drawbacks as potential stallions (and so many of them are going to Darley). It will be interesting to see what price is set on Hard Spun.
