I saw his short yearlings at the January sale and they were nice, other than the Ms. Forte colt. The Boom Town Girl filly and the Prom Knight filly I liked especially. None were consigned by Lane's End. Boom Town Girl herself wasn't in the sale, so I wasn't able to compare. But, since Prom Knight was, I took a good look at her and her baby. If the filly is any indication, Mineshaft is stamping. He improved the mare, at least looks-wise, it would appear. Both the Prom Knight and the Boom Town girl fillies had good attitudes, as well. An acquaintance of mine has a friend at Adena and he was able to see some of the foals and yearlings. He says the Prom Knight filly is coming along really nicely and they're very pleased with her. I bet she would've brought a higher price in Sept., but perhaps sold her in Jan. because her mom was in the sale, as well. Plus, she appears to be precocious. Anyway, if the 3 fillies and 1 colt he had in the January sale were a a fair sampling of what he's throwing, he's got more nice ones than he has dogs.

Thanks for the info, Sunday. I'm looking forward to seeing them for myself........I'm actually also looking forward to Sky Mesa's yearlings. His foals got great reviews last year.

I'm told we will see some Mineshafts at the select sales later this summer and in the fall. The buzz is still positive.

On a related note, there is one Empire Maker at FT July.
