You will not find a needle in the haystack, if you dont breed a few mares to a first time stallion. Congrats for having the courage to do the same.

Summerhorse, if he had been gelded, this thread wouldn't exist. :P

Gibson County will remain in Florida and is currently being syndicated. Shares will allow for 2 breeding the first 2 years, then single breeding for the remainder of the stallions breeding career. Stud fee to be announced at a later date.

Sure wouldn't. Shows sometimes you CAN make a mistake by gelding most of them! 8)

Thanks for the report Halo congrats to GC and his connections.

GC will now attract a better class of mares. Successful Appeal and Malibu Moon have been bred to a better class of mares and hopefully their offspring will go on to greater heights.

GC has a balance of NP sire lines to offset his 7 crosses of Phalaris. They are as follows.

7 crosses of Phalaris
2 crosses of Gainsborough
1 cross of Tourbillon
1 cross of Prince Rose
1 cross of Teddy
1 cross of Questionnaire
1 cross of Swynford
1 cross of Orby
1 cross of Hurry On

We can now add that GC is another son of In Excess that will make his mark in the breeding shed.
The BMS of GC winners have been with the Phalaris sire line mares.

Go to GC pedigree and click on his photo, GC is a dk. b. and you will see a TB that has super health, vitality, nervous energy as Tessio described it.

The cream always rises to the top, and Ky. will pay those $ to obtain those types of stallions.

With Gibson County and Indian Charlie, In Excess may be headed for the Sire of Sires category.

I know a guy who owns a graded stake placed son of In Excess and his first crop home bred babies look like they can run..

Gibson County boosts his value

Postby reenci » Sat Jul 29, 2006 9:09 pm

The latest count of resident Florida stallions with first crops racing and who have sired winners stands at eight. There are three additional stallions with get who have raced and placed.
Co-leaders in the number of winners category are Gibson County, who stands at McKathan Farms, and Graeme Hall, based at Winding Oaks Farm. Gibson County, by In Excess out of Miss Gibson County, by Winrightt, has a perfect score. He has 13 registered foals, five started and all five have won, including the stakes winner Genuine Talent. Gibson County's $2,500 stud fee will likely be raised for the 2007 breeding season.from drf.com
