He was in Indiana for a time and then was shipped to Buck Pond to find a new home. He needed a place, we needed a stallion, match made in heaven :)

I can't tell you how smitten I am with this horse.

My boss and I had this conversation about the horse.

Me: "I wish he was mine."
Boss: "Let me give you a piece of advice, if someone tried to give you Fusaichi Pegasus you should say no."
Me: "But I like this horse a lot more than Fusaichi Pegasus."
Boss: "Fair enough, but what I'm trying to say..."
(blah blah, financial drain, blah blah, support with your own mares... blah blah)

Thought this board would appreciate a little inside dig at Fusaichi Pegasus (and for the record: I would take him, geld him, and do dressage with him, lol  ).

He fits VERY well with some of our mares, several of whom were late foalers and coming in now. I have a mare who just had a SMASHING Big Splash baby who will be bred to him. Composer is bred very similiarly to Big Splash, but with *a lot* more race record behind him. I just happened to hit a Q8 rating with a mare that happens to be still open, that should be nice since they physically match as well.

ok adrienne....i am happy just knowing you have Composer now, dont need to know where he's been or how Buck Farm found you etc, but since Composer appears to be your soul mate, what's up with Kansas?

Buck Pond found us because we booked two mares there this season. French Account went to Lost Soldier and Beeville when to Seattle Fitz. Aside from everything else I do, I am also the hauling maven :) I prefer to do as much business in person anyhow, so I was happy to go down there and meet all the great people at Buck Pond.

We have a farm in Kansas as well as a farm in suburban Chicago. Although we raise largely IL breds because the program is so good, we do a few Kansas breds each year to run at the Woodlands. Slots just passed in Kansas and the program there is due to grow in response to the eventual rise in purses. We have Big Splash in Kansas now, but felt we could use a bit more 'sire power' over there.

then you get to keep Composer either way. I was thinking when you mentioned Kansas it was off to another farm, maybe to see Toto.
