lol, I would like to see that in the sales catolog

"Bred to Champion Sire Corthithan.. The Batshit crazy, grade 1 winning champion with champion bloodlines"

He is a little off the chain, which kinda is what intrigued me as to maven liked him so much. In the Suburban he basically said "love this..you freaker, this isn't a mile"

But at least he can pass on traits.. with Fu Peg, you get crazy kids that cant' run.

Arguably my best filly is crazy and dumb. I like some attitude and starch to my horses. I guess it's easier for me to say that because I'm not around them every day.

If I was a small breeder who had them in my backyard i'm sure I would look differently about the importance of attitude, or lack there of.

But wouldn't you argue that his mental issues are affecting his performance? Couldn't you also say that if he passes the batshit crazy on to his offspring that that would impede their performance?

Yes, but that's a big IF. I play in the 60k and under stud fee for 10 mares. I dont always have the luxury to take a "wait and see" approach in a stallion who's pedigree suggests that if his first crop was successful, he'd be near or at 6 figures the following year.

Does that make sense? I'm not sure I explained it well. haha

But flip it around, if you owned Nashoba's Key, who isnt just crazy but downright vicious, would you opt not to breed her? Of course not.

You want some attitude and spirit in your horses. Can they get to be too much? Yes. But i'm willing to take the chance, especially with a pedigree like Corinthian's.

Also, as another side note, Dynaformer is damn mean as well. He also gets very tough babies a good portion of the time. Would that prevent you from breeding to him?

See, I think the toughness/meanness is actually a positive when racing. But I see Corinthian as more of an anxiety-ridden, neurotic mess. Two different 'attitude' problems.

And is Nashoba's Key crazy, or just a raging bitch? I thought she was just the latter.

I agree it's two different issues, but there are so many variables involved you dont know if its really genetic or not if it's "anxiety" related. I've seen too many horses walk away from certain experiences with issues that could be called anxiety driven.

And Nashoba is CRAZY which makes her a bitch. She was up for private sale after her maiden win and we checked her out. We didn't pass because of her mental issues, but it was certainly an obvious trait with her.

If anxiety makes a horse crazy, than wanting to tear arms off of people makes you crazy too!

You have the I'm just a bitch when I wanna be Nashoba's Key crazy

then you have Batshit Crazy Corinthian

then you have love off or I'll bite your arm off Editor's note crazy.

watching Roayl Ascot this year, I think George Washington has some Corinthianin him.

Nashoba is ALWAYS crazy. Make no mistake. I'd rather be in a bullring with Corinthian than her any day of the week. He might be jumpy or anxiety ridden, but she'll kill you. It's that Roberto coming in!

damn, she's THAT bad? and to think... a 17 year old jockey who isn't "ready" for the BC races has won multiple grade 1s with her (sadler)

I'd personally keep him on with a filly like that. Don't change routine or give her any reason to lash out. It's funny what will make a horse "tick".

no, the reason I posted that is because Sadler took him off of his Grade 1 winner turfer that's going to be int he Breeders cup in favor of GoGo because he wasn't experienced enough.

no arguments with that list whatsoever

I hope master command never wins a grade 1.. because he has a GREAT pedigree and you can get him cheaper
