Thanks Soundfast. It doesn't sound good for that line. I can't remember specifically what it was, but I always had an affection for Olden Times and
Hagley in pedigrees.

I think there MIGHT be some other War Relics alive in Europe through Relic, who got sent to France after siring Olden Times. Although, now that I think about it, I mostly see him through mares.
Rock Point is old and at VA Tech, but had a couple of yearlings in their sale this year. And what a flop that sale was. From what I understand some really nice TBs went from $150 all the way up to $1000 or so. It's said that VA Tech might stop its breeding program completely. One sale next year for this year's foals and that's it. Big Bummer.

Captain Countdown, a Relanuch son standing in Texas and a relatively new sire with initially at least fairly limited books, has fired off some success at the tracks with his first and second crops to race. This from modest mares and in a state with little incentive/support for it's state-bred offspring at the moment. Given what he's accomplished in this environment I'd say he's worth a look - seems to produce failry precocious types as well and from what I've seen at the track: hard trying types.
