I hope it stays alive.

Broad Brush and his sons are also tail-male to Himyar through Domino. There is also one horse in West Virginia who traces tail-male to Domino through Double Jay, and one in the midwest who traces to Domino through Spy Song. Unless a miracle happens, it's up to Include and Mongoose now as Concern is having fertility issues.

Is the Domino line considered to be separate from Himyar or the same?

Domino and Questionnaire are the two remaining active branches of Himyar. Holy Bull is really the only branch of Questionnaire left, although Macho Uno and Giacomo will have good support from Adena Springs.

Include and Mongoose are the last best hope for the Domino line right now, although if/when Quest Star retires he is a good stallion prospect (gr winner from the family of Giant's Causeway and Panoramic). Nobo True may establish a branch in Japan.

The branch descended through Relic is pretty well extinct as a source of top horses in Europe, so the future of the Man o' War line in Europe now lies with the sons and grandsons of Warning. There were a few Man o' War line stallions in the Antipodes in the 1970s, but I believe those lines have fairly well played out. A possibility exists that Slew Gin Fizz may succeed in establishing a branch of this line in South America as his G1-winning sons Cafetin and Guarachero have retired there; multiple G1 winner Latency is still in training but may get the best opportunities of the three to judge by his race record to date..

If Tiznow does really well, he could spark a major revival of the Man 'O War male line; which looked like toast after the tragic death of Roving Boy.

K One King is moving from Gainesway to Thomas Farm in La.

I think he is Princequillo's sole male-line left in the US.

Don't forget Bert's Bubbleator at Stockwood Farm, KY, $2,500.

Add Prince Bobby B ( King Pellinore X Riviere Bleue by Riverman ) to that short list of Princequillo line boys. He is King Pellinore's best runner and a very vibrant, grand old fellow. He actually has two "outside" mares booked already...

SIPHON (BRZ) b. 1991
Itajara---Ebrea, by Kublai Khan

Siphon is one of the survivors of the male (Prince Rose) sire line thru Princequillo. I dont know if Siphon is still alive and well today.

Siphon is now in Pennsylvania and a bargain in my opinion at $6500 especially with slots coming in there.

Say "Hi" to the old boy for me! A good ol' boy with tender feet, if I recall correctly. :)

I'll pass on a good hug and a few carrots to Bobby from you BJ. He's been such a delight to be around. I'll have to ask David Bernstein about the foot question. David took time last year to come visit Bobby and what a reunion that was...no doubt in my mind about this horses memory and it tells me a lot about David too. Old Bobby came running right to David and put his head over his shoulder. Thanks for remembering this grand old horse.

Oh...please do! Wish I could give them in person. I remember you talking of Dave's visit before. So good to know PBB has good memories all around. He was named after DB's son, as I recall. He sure should be special to Dave  I love hearing good stories about relationships between horse and people. Makes my day! Thanks Ann!

Grade 3 multiple stakes winner Smart Guy will stand the 2006 breeding season at Fox Tale Stud in Coopersburg, PA. The son of Smarten out of the Talc mare Royal Tali stood the previous four seasons at Conowingo Lake Farm in Maryland to a limited number of mares due to a suspensory injury, but now that the horse has made a full recovery, his owner, David Malatesta, has decided to make him available to a full book for the coming breeding season.

"I was so impressed by the size and balance of Smart Guy's foals that I told Mr. Malatesta he'd be crazy not to promote this horse in a state with slots-fueled stallion awards, like Pennsylvania," said classic-winning trainer Tim Ritchey, who guided Smart Guy to a career that included a score in the Pennsylvania Derby (g. III) among his six wins and $462,740 lifetime earnings. "Smart Guy was as durable and honest as they come, and he could carry his speed over a distance of ground," Ritchey said. "It seems fitting that he's returning to the state where he scored his greatest victory. I plan on breeding some of my mares to him this year, too."

Smart Guy will stand for a fee of $1,500 live foal, and $1,000 for PA mares. "We're going to treat him as if he were a freshman stallion, and breeders should know we'll be cutting deals on seasons to mares with a lot of black-type or with six-figure earnings," said Fox Tale owner Vince Tucciarone. He noted Smart Guy, who is a full brother to multiple stakes winner Maragold Princess, is free of Mr. Prospector, Northern Dancer, and Bold Ruler blood, making him a rare outcross opportunity. "Midatlantic breeders know the heart, the gameness, and the earnings potential associated with both Smarten and Talc," said Tucciarone. "While there aren't too many stallions available to keep that blood alive, Smart Guy provides a one-two punch at an unbeatable price."

I'll be handling season sales for this guy, so let me know if anyone's interested!
