hi again louis

I would guess that when you speak with some trainers and ask how they might assess the A.P. Indys...the general comments might include that they prefer (if not need) a bit of time...two turns...and a dirt surface.

Also, it might be fair to say that A.P. Indy (in general) is not known for getting those brilliant, early two-year-old types that have breakneck and/or frontrunning speed.

Best to you.

Hi FOS: I would have to agree with your asscessment of AP Indy, as his stamina influence is shining through his speed influence. Just as you described his offspring should follow suit.

Jake Godolphin's foreman said that the AP Indys are very sound, as his pedigree dictates. The non-(Phalaris) sire lines that are found in AP Indys 5 generation pedigree are the catalyst for soundness.

TB breeders that favor those 3 X 3 matings to Mr. P should take note of AP Indys pedigree that creates soundness instead of those weak bone matings that create false soundness.
Those without sin cast the first stone.

Ahhhhhhh.......that's what I was looking for! I have a mare that has 4x4 Raise a Native and she will be bred to a son of A.P. Indy this spring.

hi Derring

Selecting an A.P. Indy son for your mare that's 4x4 Raise A Native (as you indicated), sounds (on the surface anyway) like a good move.

Is Raise A Native present (in your mare's pedigree) as a result of Mr Prospector sons in her third generation? Who is the dam (and second dam) of the A.P. Indy stallion by?

The stallion is a full brother to Old Trieste so his dam is Lovlier Linda.

The Raise a Native in my mare's pedigree is all on her dam's side. My mare's broodmare sire is a son of Mr P named Mining.
