Came Home's offspring

Postby Laro » Wed Oct 18, 2006 11:50 am

Although Came Home was precouious (he won a grade 1 at 2) his babies don't look to be. The one's I've seen are great looking and I believe they will come on as 3 year olds. Many are just not at the track yet as they seem to need more time. Just my 2 cents worth............

I love the E Dubai's and he is doing better than expected. I think he has been hovering around the top 6 or 7, which isn't bad considering he only has 43 2-yr olds, while Johannesburg, Orientate & Include are around 100- 134 2-yr olds. And you'll always see one or two FL stallions (Three Wonders this year) in the top 5, and I'm guessing its because their 2-yr olds get to the races early and often there. I've seen a lot of E Dubai's at the sales and there were only a few I didn't like and the ones I did like sold pretty well. He sold 28 yearlings at Keeneland this year for an average of $78K. Not too shabby.

E Dubai, who is ranked sixth in earnings, has done pretty well with five winners from only 17 starters (and only 51 in the crop).

By earnings...

1) Johannesburg has had 17 winners from 55 starters (crop of 184).

2) Officer 17 winners from 31 starters (crop of 74)

3) Orientate 17 winners from 41 starters (crop of 112)

4) Include 12 winners from 27 starters (crop of 97)

5) Three Wonders 12 winners from 33 (crop of 68 )

E.Dubai is the freshman I am most impressed with also, given his low number of foals. I heard they are bumping his stud fee up a bit

I didn't hear that yet....they still have the 2006 fee on their website. I've only seen photos of him, but he looks pretty handsome.

Johannesburg seems on his way to be the Leading Sire of 2 yr olds, and the Leading Freshman Sire. So far 22 winners and 6 stakes winners. Is his fee for 2007 staying the same or increasing?

Good call, Sam, on Little Expectations. He's leaving Texas for Kentucky....

I too like Officer and Johannesburg. I hope that Three Wonders stays in the hunt. Gal Wonder is entered for the Juvie fillies at the Breeders Cup, so am hoping she does well. We have that Three Wonders weanling for sale... In FL I also like Graeme Hall.

I just cant get excited with Johannesburg's stats, with 136 2 year olds, 55 runners and 20 winners. Its so obviously a numbers game now. Officer looks far more impressive to me, with 74 foals 33 runners and 18 winners. Johannesburg has 6 stakes winners, Officer has 5. It is almost astonishing to me that a horse can have 55 runners already, and only have 20 winners.

Will they raise Street Crys fee? HE has a $100,000 lead. That's tough to make up this time of year. He also has a stakes runner at Woodbine today.

And a BC Juvie colt that picked up a very big check yesterday... (go Street Cry!)
