Breeding Theory: Mutliple Mating Theory

Regarding multiple matings and mares' ages, I did a study one time trying to find out why a mare's produce declined with age, and whether it was really because she is a poorer producer over time. My study wasn't very scientific, but I was hoping to find mares that were mated to the same stallion at least three to five times who had produced stakes winners. There weren't many examples of this, and Cee's Song would be one, but I did find a few. For example, there was this one mare bred to In Reality about six times. She had about eight foals total. Anyway, of the six to In Reality, her second foal was a graded stakes horse, as was the fourth, and then I think the sixth. At least in her case, she was not getting poorer quality runners as she got older when continually mated to the same stallion. I guess in Somethingroyal's case, her matings to Bold Ruler produced a top runner later rather than earlier. But I didn't find enough examples of this to be able to form a satisfactory opinion regarding the quality of the offspring over time from the SAME mating. I'd like to know of other examples that some of you may have, along the lines of Cees Song, etc..

About nicking, I have always felt that what was most misunderstood is that nicking can only raise the probability of success rather than guaranteeing it.
If the probability of producing a graded stakes winner is 1 in 50, you will need a lot of time and a lot of mares to succeed without devising a shortcut.
Of no small factor in the success equation too, are the hands these foals are placed in, either in raising or in training. The foals of big time owners who can benefit from the best environments have a decided edge over the others. All of which further biases the AEI statistics of stallions and broodmare families.
So if you observe that a graded stakes winner is modestly bred and comes from the hinterlands, that individual is enormously more capable than his "peers" and/or his connections carefully managed his development from birth.
I think all of these factors overshadow by a considerable margin whether the foal was the first or seventh from a mare.

current date the only thing remotely close I can see right now is Belva who has two high level stakes winning horses both by smart strike, english channel and sedgefield.

urban sea might be the most important mare in the world, and while Galileo is her most imoprtant son, she also has all too beatufiul and black sam bellamy, both world class race horses by sadlers wells making them full brothers to galileo. Dam she's so productive I wuld charge the sires for being able to go to her... she's an instant bost to a sires record lol


I really have a hard time finding mares that are able to throw full siblings of similar (brillant) ability.
