I followed Red Sun with interest because of his inbreeding to Exclusive Native. Could I have the last Cal-bred Redattore? My mare's last cover date was 05/08/2009- I'll ask Dave if he knows how many were bred this year.

Compari won the Crystal Water Handicap today on the lead the whole way. Red Sun scratched I hope in favor of another race.

Compari is being aimed next at the G2 $150,000 Arcadia Handicap on April 3rd @ Santa Anita Park. Red Sun is nominated for the Frank Kilroe Mile but I don't think he will run.

HRTV interviewed John Harris last Saturday who stated the South American group bought out the rest of Redattore and that he would be staying in the Southern hemisphere for now. No more shuttle.

Red sun nominated for the Arcadia Handicap, but did not show up in the entries for saturday. I wonder if he, like Compari, battles foot issues.

ArchDandy, you seem to follow Redattore a lot, are foot issues common to his progeny?

Redattore lost a frog during a race and missed going to the breeder's cup, some time spent barefoot and he came back winning majorly. I read that compari missed a few races due to quarter cracks. I don't think that it is pedigree based, since many other horses suffer from the same issue- If I had to guess I would say faulty farriery- quarter cracks are the horse's way of saying "my walls at the quarter are too long".

redattore will be back in the states soon, he just has to. he's taking cal bred mares and making top flight grass mile offspring with them.
