Maybe it's the most money ever flushed on a single horse?

Seven years from now some poster will be asking, "Whatever happened to The Green Monkey? He was that expensive horse who only made a few starts then disappeared."

Or he could "bite" you all and be the next Danzig or something. But another horse like that comes to mind - Seattle Dancer?

Danzig is not an appropriate comparison!

well you cannot say he did not possess pure speed, that sales breeze sure proved it...he probably was not really fit or sound enough to do it so that was the first and last one...a bit like dozens of quarters every year, they feed and streroids them to the max,and lock them in stalls most of the time when they get them out of the gate they sure breeze that first 1/8 at record speed but this is usually their last...body unprepared for it...sad
The sport and industry survive not only because of the champions that are remembered forever but also because of the losers that are so easy to forget...

I guarantee you The Green Monkey was fit for the Calder sale!

As for Danzig, he won three races and showed blinding speed up to seven furlongs.

TGM was quick for one furlong, didn't look good doing it, and never won a race.

Not to mention breeding...

Hope he doesn't pass on the pulled butt muscle gene on....

All jokes aside, it will be interesting to see his get on the track in 2012.
