Thanks! We really like this guy, and he certainly represents an interesting outcross opportunity. I hope midatlantic breeders keep in mind what consistently solid sires both Smarten and Talc proved to be, and come support him in PA. Time will tell! :D

Ann,

In doing a search (to see if I'm remembering correctly about the tender feet), I came across this little excerpt in a 2001 article. (If he did have tender feet, it was because he burned holes in the wind and the turf as he ran.)

Here's the article quote by Bill Christine of L.A. Times in 2001:
..."July 19, 2001
by Bill Christine
Los Angeles Times

DEL MAR -- Early in the day, Del Mar's renovated turf course was the cushion for a few heavy bounces from jockey Tyler Baze. By twilight, though, the 18-year-old rider got comfortable on the new greensward at the seaside track, riding Dr. Park to a near-record victory in the second division of the opening-day Oceanside Stakes.

Coming from off the pace Wednesday, Dr. Park not only won by two lengths, but he also ran a mile in 1:34 2/5, missing the Oceanside record by a fifth of a second. Fastest time ever for Del Mar's traditional season-opening stake was 1:34 1/5, run by Prince Bobby B. in 1986, only four years after Baze was born...."

Another smile comes to my face. :D Go Bobby!

BJ, thanks tons for that little blurb. I always need a smile. We've never really done advertising on Bobby due to his lack of exposure in past years. People just don't believe in these old pedigrees. I refer to these old tough lines as "socially unexceptables" and I say that very sadly too. Ours is a recovery program here and most mares compliment what Bobby has to offer via linebreeding and some inbreeding. For 2006 he's got two outside mares coming and the one might be kinda exciting. She's a Cozzene and tail female to the Carpet Slippers clan via her 3rd dam, Vali. In fact she's linebred to Vali via Green Dancer. Naturally the object to all this is to get a son worthy of keeping. We have already stashed back two nice fillies. Thank so much again and I will keep in mind the thought about Bobby and his feet...no foot no horse they say. Just a final remark..Bobby is something to behold when he powers across a field. No signs of whatever might have bothered him.

Princequillo

Postby Sheikh » Wed Dec 07, 2005 4:39 am

Any posters know of any Princequillo stallions in Europe or even better Ireland, sadly I can't find any, there are plenty of stallions with lots of Princequillo/Prince rose blood on the dam side. Any Irish breeders know of any stallions who are throwing to the Princequillo side of there pedigree ?....long shot I know. :?

To Sheikh: Why are you seeking a Princequillo line stallion, are you going to breed to a previous successful breeding pattern? Thanks Louis.

Louis, yes I am, It's been a while since her family produced anything very good on the flat. Her dam produced a good jumper and from other research I have done the common denominator is the Princequillo, Prince Rose line. I know you are sceptical about reaching back too far into a pedigree but i believe the bottom line is still dictating this family.

To Sheikh: How many generations back are you talking about to the Prince Rose sire line?

The next best thing you can do is to find a stallion that is line-bred in Tail Female 3X3 to Prince John or Princequillo, as this would be the nick or bloodline affinity you seek.

Many Thanks Louis, the mares mother produced the good jumper and her great gran produced a good flat horse with the Prince Rose influence, I have found good results from other similarly bred mares with this cross.

Sheikh, I sure wish you were on this side of the pond because I think our old stallion Prince Bobby B would fit your specs. He's by King Pellinore and also has Prince John for a little kicker. Bobby also was a pretty fair kinda race horse too. He had zilch opportunity as a sire prior to us getting him in 2001.
