David Copperfield is listed as 15.3 which is only an inch below average TB size and the same size as Smarty and a host of others. I stood right next to him and he is well made and def. not small, in fact he's quite a tank. He has a Danzig head (actually kind of looks like Chief's Crown a bit) but he's a good looking son of a gun and he just had this amazing metallic GLOW to him. I have photos of him in Hopewell album at http://community.webshots.com/user/summerhorse

He looks much better than what I remembered. My bad! But I still think 15.3 is a stretch.

Karie, did you decide on a turf stallion?
I just saw this thread, and haven't studied your mare's pedigree, but until they shipped With Approval to Europe, I thought he was the best turf bargain on earth.
A yet unproven (but very likely) turf sire at a stupendous bargain for you to consider is Syncline (Danzig). He's half to the leading sire in the UK, Selkirk, sibling to 5 stakes winners, from a turf family. He's a very grand looking son of Danzig. We have a racy, good looking yearling colt by him, and an '06 question mark on the way.

too bad they sold him!

Interesting that you should mention King Cugat Wilf. I did see him over here three years ago and (apart from his knee) he was an awesome looking beast.
He probably thought that he was on his way to the breeding barn during the parade as he held his head high and was up on all fours.
Unfortunately, his stats so far for runners (first seaon stallions) are:
19 King Cugat (USA), 1997, by Kingmambo 14/2 0/0 0/0 27,551 Chateau Cugat (NZ), $11,901
I know that two year old racing is not the be all and end all however we all know that they need to get more winners and prizemoney early (our babies have been racing for five months) otherwise they face banishment to less desirable places. Sorry state of affairs in both hemispheres.
We did send a mare to him but I guess she didn't like something about him as she absorbed after the first service and just did not get into foal again after four other services. It was a Christmas Tree type of mating on paper as well! All those pretty colours on the pedigree page.
He is being supported by some of the heavyweights in our industry so I really do hope that his babies can run with a bit of maturity and experience over the next nine months or so.
But, at the moment, he is no sure bet.
