Thank you for recognizing sarcasm to Rokeby and Patuxet and nice catch on the Italian Old Blood. I have a mare in foal to Go For Gin named Talespin. I have a mare in foal to Grindstone named Shroud Remark. I think they are great bargains with a chance to sell or race. As far as my ranking vs my breeding prowess, I bred Wild Encounter in my first crop and she recently won the San Jacinto while winning her fifth consecutive race. Based on your chat room raking, I can only assume that you have at least bred a regional champion, BJ? Rokeby, I own Sunset Rose (1/2 to Rokeby). She is booked to Powerscourt.

Sunset Rose! Great catch, Old Blood. I'm glad to know she's in your program. IMO she was the buy of that Ocala sale. Nothing finer than Mellon blood. (Unless it's a cast-off from the Aga Khan.) That's a very smart breeding with Powerscourt. I especially like the Lalun RM. Did you ever send SR to a Nijinsky son?
The Grindstone-Shroud Remark breeding is a sensible replication of Birdstone with great support on the bottom line. I saw the third dam place in a stakes at Saratoga.
You don't by any chance have Yggdrasil or Memorive, do you? Two other mares that caught my eye at auction and would seem to fit into your plan as well.

Not yet. First ones still in the oven. Will let you know in about 3 years, as I am breeding to race and don't believe in breaking them down as 2 y/o.
I suspected your post was sarcasm. But you can never tell (sometimes). Either way...it was meant the same, based on the facts available.
Congratulations on breeding a decent one first out. Condolences on losing the mare. Looks like a nice female line "come alive" and I just love the Icecapade sireline. My mares are Icecapade line, so I'm a bit prejudiced in that direction, I guess

Do people know that Silverbulletday was out of a Mellon mare? I think that's a pretty good trivia question.
Yes, its how she was able to carry her speed a distance... the classy and stout Rokeby blood. In fact, her dam had her when she was quite long in the tooth.
Im surprised she's panned as a broodmare so far. They need to breed her to speed instead of stamina. Her Indy was slower than a fat girl.
Actually, a cover to Alphabet Soup would be very interesting. Returning the best blood of Silverbulletday through Arts and Letters.
