Well, Smarty's AEI is only 1.34, so he would be a good fit for Pennsylvania.

In this market, given his foals' sales, he is worth about $3,000. Why anyone would pay $10k to breed to him is unclear.

his starter, backtalk, never fired yesterday and came in dead last. I am afraid Smarty is washed up as a stud.

I did want to point out that if you are a big fan of his turn on TVG (if you get it) because anytime one of his offspring run the announcer just oozes how "good a sire he is of young offspring".

The majority of those TVG guys are really way over the top with most of their pedigree pontification.

It's only slightly more silly than the chick who makes selections based on how pretty they look while she watches them go by on the tv screen.
