I dont even think QR will be a factor, at Churchill, at 1 1/4, anyways...if anyone is so sure they all can beat her, I'll be waiting for you :) Dont be scared, my tab at keeneland this sale was only 20$ its not that scary, come on and put your $ where your mouth is, if you're so sure QR and others can beat Z, and we'll have a great time no matter who wins!!!!!!!!!

Which bar?

I will be in the paddock...

I havent been to Churchill since Strike The Gold won in '91  So I dont remember where the libation stations are exactly, but Im going to try to be in the paddock too. I want to see Zenyatta so badly! But I really just want to have fun and see some great racing, I cant wait!

I don't think Candy Ride's fee is going to double although I could be wrong about that. But in answer to your question, yes, I suspect so.

Well it has ALL changed. The new casino (minus slots, etc) dwarfs the old twin spires. Silks has moved up to the 2nd floor of the casino, opposite the food court. Besides Silks there aren't really any "bars" - just drink lines and beer stations. I usually pack some kind of food (sandwiches, etc.) I gave up beer for Lent in 2009 and have lost 22 lbs - there isn't anything else available/worth messing with at the track, so I don't bet booze. Mint juleps are nasty. We could bet $5 which would buy you a drink if you won..

I will pick out something distintive to wear a day or two before and we can maybe find each other in the paddock.

That was my ONLY derby! We had awful, awful seats located at the top of the stretch and I had NO clue who won. I have upheld my promise to myself that I would only go back if I had good seats and since I have not tried to get any it's been easy to say no.

What do you think Sidney will stand for in 2011?

Who is booked full?

Take a guess... it is not my place to make that announcement.

Nice crytic answer. I don't actually need to guess. Instead I will say with absolute certainty there are no stallions in KY whose 2011 books are closed right now.

I'm assuming that the horse you're referring to is a very popular stallion. Probably one who's already had a lot of interest expressed. But stallions--especially popular ones--aren't booked on a first come, first served basis. At this point in the year, when fees have yet to be announced the majority of mare owners haven't yet submitted their mares anywhere.

So here's how it works. Imagine there's a stallion--Mr. Popular--who will have a book of 130 mares in 2011. The stallion manager already has 130 submissions. Why on earth would he want to close the book now? Instead, he'll wait until fees are announced and everyone submits. Then he'll have 250-300 mares to choose from and he can narrow that down to the best matches, or the graded stakes producing mares, or the ones with high-fertility, or that belong to to past clients who pay their bills promptly. Whatever means he uses to choose, he's going to retain that choice. He's not going to close the book in October just because some people called early. (If only it was that easy to get a bad mare to a good stallion!)

As an aside, since no one knows yet how much they're going to be paying, the fact that submissions are coming in early is in no way binding on either side--and won't be until stud fees are announced and contracts are subsequently signed.

I think Tappiano likes to "cryptically" think she has the inside track to Candy Ride. His fee may well rise, but it won't double. His sales figures do not support it. He's almost a "breed to race" stallion.

Well I figured we were either talking about Candy Ride or Quality Road. Just didn't know which one. Why does Tap have the inside track to CR? Or why does she think she does?

LB you don't have to talk about me, that's what PM's are for, if you wanted to know why not ask? You're just baiting someone who seems to teeter on the edge of being a troll.

Touch Gold is moving to New York so his fee is going to drop.

Will Congrats fee raise above $25k? He's doing exceptionally well with his first crop.

2 graded stakes winners from 100 foals = 2% truely exceptional
17 winners from 46 runners. 17% winners to foals.
So a rise from $4,500 to $25,000 is warranted?
