Oh yes, Dazzling Falls is also at the same farm as Blumin Affair. DF is a nice looking horse & he could run.

It has been reported that Kip Deville, 3 year old son of Kipling, has been sold to new owners for somewhere around $500,000 and is now in the barn of Richard Dutrow. They are pointing him for a couple of turf stakes at Colonial Downs.

Kipling has a nice one here for sure.

I second that...nice horse from VERY limited opportunity. Another couple making moves up the ranks are BARRICADE (Riverman - Balleta, by Lyphard) and CHANATE (Storm Cat - Turk O Witz, by Stop the Music).

Another totally underrated stallion in Arizona is JONATHAN'S GOLD (Fast Gold - Goldian, by Ridan). He comes from the family line of 13-c. He was kept in a back yard for years and only covered a handful of very poorly matched mares, getting 15 foals and none for several recent years. Of those, 8 went to the races and all won, including one who placed in a non-black-type stakes in AZ (we have a lot of them, here). He ran and retired sound, was stakes-placed in Florida and is super nice looking. You wouldn't know he was 20 by the way he acts and looks. He was essentially rescued this past fall, returned to good heath and has been bred to a bunch of mares this year.

Another very nice horse, but currently unproven, is my own stallion, LOUIS ARTHUR (Relaunch - Mackenzie Slew, by Seattle Slew). For information on him, you can go to our website www.LouisArthur.com . If his first foal and the nice mares he got this season are any indication of what type of sire he'll be, I think he'll be an asset to almost any breeding program, and definitely worth your while to consider. You can see the baby at www.LouisArthur.com/foals.htm .

Both Jonathan's Gold and Louis Arthur stand at Chesterfield Farm, in Queen Creek, AZ.

Did anyone notice that K One King had a very nice winner yesterday at Lone Star in K One Run?

1st time starter that looked very nice winning at 6 furlongs from off of the pace.

I've looked at your stallion very closely for two years, tbbreeder. I really like his pedigree. But it just doesn't make sense for me to breed outside of New Mexico.

Let me know if you ever decide to ship him over the border and register him with the New Mexico program. I think he might have a lot more opportunity here, especially if he gets one or two really good runners on the track. :D

Hi Laurie,
Thanks for the kind words. I fully expect him to have good runners when the time comes. We had some interest in moving over near Zia for this season, but I like to be able to visit often. However, I keep an open mind and if the right situation came along, we might do it. He's a neat horse to be around and, softy that I am, I'd miss him. God knows your program is better than ours, but the part I hate is that I'd have to move all my horses there and never get to enjoy any of them. I really wish NM would lighten up on the "MUST keep everybody here all year, 24/7 or else!" requirement.

His first foal will likely run in NM, as the owner is looking to move over there and take his barn with him. Wouldn't hurt my feelings to have her running for that kind of purse money!

However, if you think you really have a nice match for him, consider the following, as it might be worth missing a set of NM breeders awards.

We will be enacting our own breeders awards for him beginning with the 2007 breeding season for foals of 2008 and onward. It goes thusly:

$2500 to the FIRST breeder of the first North American winner of any restricted black-type race (Mexico excluded).

$5000 to the FIRST breeder of the first North American winner of any open black-type race (Mexico excluded).

$10000 to the FIRST breeder of the first winner of any Graded or Group race (N.A., UK, GER, FR, ITY, ARG, BRZ, VEN, CHI, AUS, NZ, JPN & UAE).

Our 5% Breeders' Cup Stallion Award to the FIRST breeder of the first winner of any Breeders' Cup sponsored race, graded or not (including the Classic).

We have every faith that each and every one WILL be awarded.

Cheers!
Vikki

Go Kip DeVille, putting Kipling on the map for sure with that nice run at Colonial.

Too bad Quincy had him at 1.08 and change for six, although he did say that he could not wrap him up and had to let him go.

I checked out your site on Louis Arthur and was very impressed by how much information there was on the site. It's great to see another promising tail male descendant of Man O' War at stud. I really do like his pedigree. My only concern might be his lack of stakes appearances - however if he came back after being injured at 2 and raced sound till 7 this would be a mitigating factor.

I think you are doing the right thing with your advertising and breeding incentives, although some people have been telling me that NM is more racing and breeding friendly than your current location. But I can understand that you would miss your horse if he moved.

I'm looking forward to seeing some large sized conformation and walking videos on your web site. I looked at the racing videos and he seems like a very attractive horse, but racing videos are kind of small, for eyes like mine that are about to have a birthday making them one year older.

Incidentally, being a fan of Dynaformer as a sire, I'm curious that he has very few sons standing at stud.

One that I've learned of is Dynameaux, standing at key to the hills farm in Texas. His pedigree is good, and he was stakes placed on the racetrack, but the farm website has virtually no information about him other than a picture. In fact most of the website is dead links.

Does anyone have an opinion on him/know what's happening with this farm?

Replying to Stedfast Farm's question and updating others interested in the B.T. sireline stallions in the US - there were two others of the Byerly Turk sireline standing in the SW (if you include Colorado in that definition) -

MY MEMOIRS a GSW son of DON'T FORGET ME - stood in Colorado until June 24th of this year, when he died in his paddock. From very few foals to race in a state not none for its racing opportunities and active primarily before adjoinging state, NMX, really saw it's racing opps incease tremendously as they have of late he did sire some winners.

Eastern Memories, also a son, SP, of DON'T FORGET ME - stood at Fox Hollow Farm in Seguin Texas to mare owners wanting runners and jumpers. He had just had his first winner from only 3 foals to race when it seemed he just vanished. I've not been able to determine if he's been retired, sold or what???

There has also been a question of whether or not any offspring of L'Afrique Blue who stood in NMx briefly before he deceased are still intact and at stud....

FYI - DON'T FORGET ME stood in Ireland for a while before going to India.

Well, "seek and you shall find".....I found this 2006 listing for the stallion Eastern Memories, still at stud, still in Texas, still in Seguin but perhaps at a different farm or ownership of Fox Hollow changed.....(from the Thoroughbred Times Alphabetical Listing copyright 2006) -

Eastern Memories (Ire), 99, =Don't Forget Me (Ire)—=East River (Fr), by Arctic Tern. Winds of White Oak, 651 S. FM 2538, Seguin, TX 78155-8301. Phone: (830) 914-2911

What are the thoughts on the older stallion Clever Return? I know he didn't have a large amount of mares, but his owners were a mother/daughter team, and I don't think really marketed him much.

He's still in Texas, but has new owners. I bred my mare to him in April with the help of this board suggesting an Icecapade stallion for her.
