I really like Bold N Flashy! He has a great sales average, he throws consitent runners and in person he is a good looking horse with presence :)

Westover - I am glad you are breeding to Traj. My mare aborted a colt by him in December :( I think he was the only one in Ontario that had next to no white on him. I am also glad to see that his stud fee has dropped (I thought it was high last year).

Hmmm, so you're saying that even though Pletcher trained my stallion Ingot that I shouldn't bother waiting all night by the phone for his call that's unlikely to come (just like highschool eh?) ;)

westover,
Down here is Hot Springs, Arkansas. I needed a year off from foaling and holding mares for breedings (although I will miss seeing the babies, I've got 1 now who is almost a week past due, I keep calling to see if she's waxed up yet). I wanted to get more experience at the track so I can work more with mine when the're back in Canada eventually. I've got 1 here now and will have another 3 soon (hopefully, the're a couple weeks late already). I want to get a race or 2 into them down here before sending them back up to Woodbine. I will be an even bigger pain in the ass owner now after rubbing them for 3 months.

MINNOW,
thanks, good luck to you too. Not sure exactly (because of the screen name) but are you talking about Cody.

That's why I have so much time to waste on this forum, there's not much to do on dark days, when you have 1 horse to look after. Watch HRTV and read. No hockey on tv either, I refuse to choose between college basketball or college basketball.

Not sure if Jane was laking about other peoples mare or just Westovers but I'll post my dates anyways, assuming all foalings go well.

Hi Ascot,
I am going to jog your memory.
We met last year at Derby lane Dogs,
Later as Tampa Bay Downs,
Ride around in a big white truck, with four horse slant trailer,
bought a case of beer to your place, because you bred my awkward red head.
light come on yet :?:

ya I remember, it was just over a year ago. I remember seeing the announcement on Sportscenter that Barbaro was put down on the flight back. The beer helped ease the pain of a disappointing year of racing.

Ascot. Are you getting that storm there now? They keep saying on our weather that it is still in Arkansas. I guess we might get hammered tomorrow, depending how far north or south it passes us. I am hoping for snow. I have had enough of freezing rain and mucky paddocks!!!!

Ah yes the couch.. it reached a point where no one would come over as we had no where to sit!! although i guess that is not such a bad thing.. no one coming over..lol

Arkansas, i have never been there, good for you. Its nice to have a change i bet. lol i love that you are an educated owner. Do you train your own when you are at Woodbine?

Mood Swings I see what your saying re: Bold N Flashy, but i am wondering if those figures are some what distorted as an owner close to those connections seems to pay a ton of money for Bold N Flashy's.
$150,000 for a Bold N Flashy??? Hmmm  Ya & Bob is my uncle.. lol

Now as far as Todd, he maybe very busy as he called me & he is dying to train one of our yearlings whose siblings have won $3,000, $9,000 & $16,000. LOL

Haha Westover I know what you mean. However *said* person didn't buy any last year and his average was still 10x his stud fee ;)

Ascot - that is exciting that you have one going to Sun King. I really liked him as a race horse and I have heard that he is a great looking horse.

So are all of the Ontarions ready for the snowstorm tomorrow? How did everyone like the nasty subzero weather and wind the other day? Yikes!!

You are correct Mood Swings, as i did check that as well. Good point.

One thing i was wondering about and we didn't cover on this Ontario/Canada thread was Tomahawk, is anyone breeding to him this year on his bubble year?

I like him thats why i asked. I would be very surprised :o if he didn't have runners.

I hate, hate, hate winter. Maybe one day the horses will feel bad about all they cost me and decide they should pay to winter me in Florida. More likely they'd take my credit card and all go to vegas for the weekend without me.

I was thinking more of Bold N Flashy to produce a racehorse, in this economy I'm not sure we will be able to sell any of these foals for profit. If I want to take advantage of the Ont Sire races then I have to find some local boys. I'd like to go to a Bold Ruckus line with one of my mares and Flashy is the only one in town.

The Irish connection just loves selling horses to that old man for 10 or 20 times the stud fee.

I have a friend with a nice big Bold n Flashy yearling that was orphaned at birth. I don't know what she paid for the season, as it was a last minute replacement for a Perigee Moon breeding  .

I think you all should come down and do a Niagara Stallion Tour, you're more than welcome to drop by and see Legal Jousting.
