I feel strange saying this, but I'd almost rather have one break down and be euthanized immediately than go through the terror of a fire. I hope they died of the smoke :(

In addition to Favorite Trick & Saratoga Six the other 4 casualties were:

Gone Hollywood TB - 1994 x Gone West - Existentialist x Relaunch.

Fredericksburg QH - 2001 Mr. Jess Perry - Fearless Freda x Dash For Cash

Southern Cartel QH - 2000 Corona Cartel - Southern Policy x Reb's Policy

The Down Side QH - 2000 First Down Dash - RR Le Mistral x Easy Jet

RIP

Agree, I pray they died from the smoke, can't imagine the terror of burning up.

 I'm just kind of shaking in disbelief. It's tragic when horses die young and it's tragic when a horse that far along and near pasture-dom can't enjoy just hanging out in his golden years. I'm just hoping they didn't feel a thing.

The Countess Diana/Favorite Trick tragedies are just creepy. 1997 filly and 1997 colt champs, inside of a couple weeks.

barn fire is my worst nightmare. The owners must be devisated. Like eveyone else, hope (against all hopes) that the animals didn't suffer.

RIP boys.

I was just thinking the other day of Saratoga Six...

This year has not been good. Barn fires, breakdowns, disease, a driver gets killed during a harness race....sometimes it becomes too much...
