Simple "yes" or "no". Don't even have to sign your name to your vote or make a post saying why. Just curious about the number here who think it should be approved.

Interesting. Dead even split on whether or not it should be approved, but 2-1 on whether or not people would use it.

People will feel one way or the other about WHETHER it should be approve. However if it WAS approved only a stallion owner with his or her head in the sand would "refuse" to go along. It is a case of understanding and going with the market. Digital Equipment Corp. rode the crest of its VAX into oblivion, refusing to embrace the changes in its market place. I may NOT WANT AI but if it was approved I would not let it stand in my stallion's way.

nod

Makes me wonder who makes up the majority of those against AI -- Stallion owners or Mare Owners. I suspect it might higher end stallion owners and commercial breeders in general.

It just doesn't seem logical to me that a small regional breed-to-race mare owner would be against it knowing it could mean the difference between breeding to the best stallion for the mare or the best available match within traveling distance.

I also wonder how many would take Rogue's approach to it. Prefering live cover, but would do AI for those mares a great distance away.

BTW, I know I'm way behind times here since the book is about 4 years old, but did anyone/everyone read $tud? Interesting look at how breeding is handled throughout the country.
