had his first winner ast night at Canterbury Downs - the filly's name is Asian Wind and she won by 2 1/2 lengths.

This colt looked like a stallion even as a two year old; I thought he had the goods to be a force in the Triple Crown...but he broke down in the BC Juvy and only his class pulled him through (according to his connections, since it was a severe injury)Hopefully this is the first of many winners from Jump Start - he's a beautiful horse

Jump Start has 10 crosses of Phalaris including 3 crosses of Bold Ruler, 2 crosses of Buckpasser.

When a TB has that many crosses of one sire line they are prone to weak bones and a early breakdown.

Jump Start would do well with Fair Play sire line mares for an outcross to give strong bones to his offspring.

Bold Ruler's dam Miss Disco by Discovery was a Fair Play sire line mare and this cross produced Bold Ruler.

Its time to go back to the well, and breed for sound individuals.

Considering his dam retired with a leg injury and his half sister by Old Trieste had a severe injury, I wouldn't breed to him for free.

Pull up the pedigrees of Forty Niner, Gulch, and Seeking the Gold, and you will see why A. B. Bull Hancock was one of the all time great breeders of TB.

Bull Hancock used those NP sire lines as an outcross, to breed sound individuals.
