(From the Texas Thoroughbred Association website) -

Texas sire Flaming Quest (GB) gets first winner

7/20/2006

Flaming Quest (GB) was represented by his first winner on July 20 when Texas-bred Flamefinder broke his maiden in a $26,232 special weight contest at Evangeline Downs. The 3-year-old gelding, bred and owned by William and Luann Benzick, prevailed by 2 1/4 lengths in the 6 1/2-furlong race. Now an earner of $25,240, Flamefinder has hit the board in all four of his career starts. John Gelner trains the gelding, who is out of the Buckfinder mare Kiss a Buckfinder.

Flaming Quest, a stakes-placed son of champion Rainbow Quest, stands as property of Charlotte Voss at her Double Star Stables in Leonard. Flaming Quest’s dam, the Sadler’s Wells daughter Nearctic Flame (Ire), is a full sister to multiple Group 1 winner Salsabil (Ire). Flaming Quest's runners figure to improve over a distance of ground or on the turf – his broke his maiden on the grass in England going 1 1/2 miles and also placed in two stakes at that distance.

Hi jellac: I looked at the photo of FQ and I would breed a mare to FQ that has good strong bone and good width.

FQ appears to have those thin spindle legs. A mare that is stout and good bone will add the missing ingredient to FQ offspring.
Those without sin cast the first stone.
