Can anyone share their insight on how they think Sligo Bay will preform as a Sire. I know it's difficult to predict but does anyone have a opinion?

I'm hoping someone has a yearling out there by Sligo Bay and I would like to know what the thing of him or her

I saw him at Adena Springs in January -- very much a well-balanced Northern Dancer type but with the longish pasterns typical of Sadler's Wells progeny. May be inclined towards siring turf types.

I believe there's someone on this forum who has a Sligo Bay (maybe henthorn?) Hopefully he or she will find this thread and give you an opinion.

I have an April yearling filly named Starlight Bay, by Sligo Bay out of my Affirmed mare Shake On It. I was planning to sell her at Keeneland September, but she was to be placed in the last book of the sale, so I withdrew her. Apparently the Sligo Bay yearlings as a group are unimpressive for sales value. They are smallish, underdeveloped, and with their sire's turf background, won't likely return their stud fees to the owner at sales.

My filly is typical, but has always been leader of her yearling pasture pals. She is smallish, immature, not very muscular. She is well conformed, and I expect her to become an athlete, probably sound.

Her real growth didn't start until this spring and summer, so she won't be very mature for fall sales. She is still for sale and can be inspected at Little River Farm near Versailles, KY. Send me a PM if you need more info or pricing. Her weanling picture is in the pedigree database.
This one is from this June.
