I just went to see this guy in Illinois. I'd be interested in opinions on his pedigree and in suggestions as to what might be useful to see in the pedigree of a mare bred to him.

His first two year olds are on the ground now, and his first winner was last week.

This is just from a vague, quick scanning cuz I'm hitting the sack but I'd lay out suggestions of Seattle Slew, Lord at War, El Gran Senor, Raise a Native line (particularly Alydar and Mr. Prospector), and Deputy Minister mares.. sorry to cut and run. Lemme know what you think about those everybody.

Wild Again over Deputy Minister got us Sarava and Wild Deputy right? Not sure if I'm interpreting this right but given the reaction of Secretariat with Seattle Slew and Wild Again, might that not Seattle Slew work with Chicago Six?

Thanks Heidilady

Wasn't trying to make anyone ashamed - just that you and your fellow posters are experts and I like to get the benefit of your opinions.

We all just give Jordan too much attention I think, when we could be talking about horses instead - much more interesting.

Thanks for your input.

All of Heidilady's suggestions were good but using Goldmine and VGS, The Minstrel came out on top with an outstanding VGS score of 19+. Roughly, this means that with The Minstrel mares, Wild Again is 19 times more likely to produce a GS placer than with all the other mares that he has also produced a GS placer. For a more in depth explanation, check out the Goldmine/VGS website.

Wow

That is a good result. Thanks Heidlady and Jagger for your input.

Illinois has a dearth of good stallions but a very generous breeding incentives program. I think that Chicago Six, with his race record and pedigree, and 2500 stud fee, is a good addition to the stallions standing in Illinois.
