Pedigree Query

Looking for early opinions on him as a stallion prospect. My mare matches up very well with him from a hypo-mating point of view. Looking for anything that might help pictures, physical descriptions, opinions etc. Trying to deterimine if it is worth a trip to fla to see him.

My mare is 15'3" atheletic, well balanced, medium to light boned, straight in the front-end.

I am not sure that his commerical appeal will be that great. $10K seems high for him at this point.

He's a fantastic looking horse (between 16 and 16:1) and I have a mare booked to him for $10,000. He's a very stoutly built horse, clearly built like a sprinter, but that's just fine with me.

They already got more than 50 mares to him at the October only price of $10,000 and his regular listed fee next year is $12,500.

But for a stumble after clipping heels, I think he was going to be right there at the finish of the Breeders Cup Sprint as he was travelling very well when he clipped heels and afterwards his rider backed off for part of the race trying to make sure he wasn't hurt (luckily he came out of that race without a scratch) before getting back into the race with him. The horses who finished 2nd and 3rd in the Sprint are horses he beat when winning the Grade I Forego in has last start before the Sprint.

This horse had a ton of heart to go with his ability, and is such a looker, that I think he's got a good shot to be a success at stud. He will be well managed too, his owner has bought some pretty expensive mares which he is sending to him, so he's going to get every chance.

If Pomeroy's foals look anything like him they're going to sell well before he has runners, and with the quality and quantity of mares going to him he's got every chance to get good runners which will keep his sales going strong.

I think Cloverleaf is having their stallion show Saturday December 9th where you'll get a chance to see plenty of him.

Pomeroy is one of the finest looking stallions that ran this year. I don't think you can miss if your mare has any family at all.

you just might be kicking yourself...over the 10k...if you can afford it ...it looks like a good gamble for a first year sire....fantastic race horse seen him in person on 3 different occations. game game game...lots of heart there.

Saw Pomeroy today at the Parade of Stallions at OBS -- nice medium-sized horse, athletic, looks typical of his line (Danzig grandson). He should book up pretty fast; he was drawing a lot of favorable comments from the spectators.

I am not a huge fan of first year stallions so I couldn't give you a strong opinion of him but I certainly see why you would be interested in getting your mare in foal to one of them, they can certainly sell well if you are lucky enough to get to the "hot" first year stallion. It doesn't appear to me that Pomeroy has the potential to be that kind of hot stallion but I certainly could be wrong about that.
Just for the sake of conversation--- why wouldn't you consider Montbrook, West Acre, Eltish, or one of my personal favorites (for the breed to race types only)---- Stark Ridge. I thought I would mention some other stallions that have proven themselves at very attractive stud fees that also stand in florida! Stark Ridge is a real sleeper for a 1k stud fee!

I thought he was nice too - saw him at OBS too and thought he was very athletic.

Congrats was right next to him and I was REALLY impressed with him! What a big, good looking stallion.

The rep for Cloverleaf confirmed that both are now at $12,500 and that both books are filling fast. She thought that Congrats book would be filled by the time of their stallion show (Dec 6th I think).
