Syncline

What do you all think of this son of Danzig, from a darned good female family?
Syncline had another maiden winner yesterday at Hawthorne in her first lifetime start, plus an A-other than winner on the poly at Turfway.
It's exciting to see he's upgrading his mares and getting 2yos. at the same time. Not bad for the size of his book, and the inevitable "turf" stamp he's gotten.

I remember noting that he's at the absolute bottom of the list of KY stallions in the 2007 TB Times stallion directory.

We have two lovely babies by him from our Cozzene mare. The yearling is very reminiscent of a Danzig: racy, short coupled, opinionated, nice mover.
His weanling sister was the largest foal from our mare and is already grey.
Our mare was turned out with Syncline's sister Seebe. It's truly an amazing family that their dam produced.

Denise, don't forget Honor Defend. Please look at his pedigree for an update if you haven't done so in awhile, Honor's brother, Grass Wonder is the leading 2nd crop stallion in Japan and they shuttle him to Austrailia as well. You can look at the family and him in particular at Eliza Park's web site. Google Eliza Park and then select it to get to their website quickly. Honor's sister is the fabulous mare Wonder Again and his broodmare still has plenty of life left in her to get some other great horses from her covers.
Honor's family includes the great stallions Saint Ballado, Singspiel, and Rahy to name a few.
A Jersey stallion also allows you the chance to have dual state registry, if you are not aware of the program I can get you more details.
I hope all is well and I wish you good luck in your mating decisions.
best regards Brendan

I have a mare in foal to him due in mid-Feb. and I can't wait. I was in the training barn with his leading money earner Tainted Money and he was beautiful.

How exciting! We've been watching his first runners and they appear to be very game. What's the pedigree on your mare?

Syncline

Hallo,
It was a surprise for me to discover Syncline is a HB of Selkirk (by Sharpen Up).

I can understand most of the names in his ped are unfamiliar to American breeders. His damsire Nebbiolo (won 2000 Guineas, Gimcrack Stakes) belongs to a successful German damline, with horses like Nobilissima, Nightline, Nouvelle Fortune etc + his damsire is Birkhahn (by Alchimist is same family as Allegretta), an influential German sire. Nebbiolo's sireline is represented in my homecountry via Kornado. Yellow God, Nebbiolo's sire carries the same damline like Sharpo (by Sharpen Up).

Hopefully I could provide you with some interesting infos in a nutshell.

Regards, Bettina

Yes, Syncline is from a wonderful family including GB's leading sire Selkirk, along with full sibs Seebe, Rimrod and Skillington. Their dam, Annie Edge, was a wonderful racemare herself and lived out her years at the farm where our mare is and where all these were foaled here in PA.
That back class in their pedigrees is something we relish. The great European bloodlines give us our stayers for the turf, hopefully!
