Cahill Road is a full brother of Unbridled and a son of the great Fappiano. He had 2 GS placers last year from a mediocre, at best, book.

Depends on who the mare is also.
Matings are a 50/50 match.
Matty G was a looker at the Open house a while back.

I love Cahill Road's offspring. The few that I have worked with have been big, rangy, good looking horses. Good minds, maybe a bit slower to develop. One of them is just a beautiful horse with great bone...except for his dinosaur head. I think they need distance. And mud!

Tribunal gets precocious Quarter Horse types. They have big hips and are small and quick. Problem with him is soundness, the few I have been around had problems here and there.

Delineator can get a good one. He has the quick Fast Parade, the tough Halonator and one time G1SW Tali'sluckybusride.

I have always liked Free At Last, they seem to be pretty useful and sound. He's the sire of Angies Kin, Bamboo Gold, Grey Tobe Free, I'm Free, and King Jeremy.

An aquaintance has a giant He's Tops yearling, but I don't know a lot about him.

Katowice is evil, and gets quick, racey, but light-boned horses. The few I have been around had nasty temperments, but were quite pretty.

Private Gold was a nice racehorse, just a cut below the top. He has a nice female family and I think he looks like Petionville.

I think Matty G and You and I are wonderful additions up here in the Northwest.

I also like Matty G. Note that his AEI is about 20% higher than the CI for the mares bred to him. I wish he'd come back to California. I was surprised when they kicked him out of KY so fast.

Depends what you are breeding for really.

Matty G is a tremendous value as he really improves his mares.

Defensive Play is one of my favorites. I have rarely seen such a magnificent stallion. He is a beauty.

Cahill Road you cant go wrong with either.

Nacheezmo is my pick. He is a Carson City son out of a Deputy Minister
daughter from a solid family. Nacheezmo ran a "just missed" second to Strong Hope in G II Dwyer, and defeated Sky Mesa.
He is a nicely muscled stallion, with a wonderful temperment.
I actually was so elated that he had made it to WA state that I bred four
mares to him. I have daughters of Cee's Tizzy, Groovy, Silver Ghost and Phone Trick all "baking" baby Nacheezmo's.
I might add that The Mungers are just great to work with. The billing is easy and correct. They use the best Enumclaw vets, and all of my mares were in foal on the first cover. (He is a very fertile guy too !)

Demon Warlock is interesting as he is tail-male to Gallant Man, a sireline which is almost extinct. Many people thought highly of his sire, Demons Begone, so there will be curiosity as to whether Demon Warlock can deliver - it's to be hoped he'll get a decent book in his first season at stud in 2007. However, as has been noted, it's difficult in this market for any stallion to get a really good book of mares, as shipping costs to the area can be prohibitive for the small scale breeder.

Just off this I was interested in Nacheezmo. So he must be correct then?

How many other sons of Demons Begone are at stud? Interesting that it might be up to Demon Warlock to carry the banner for that line.

Stallionregister.com reports that he's the only son of DB standing at stud.

I'm not sure, but Demon Warlock may be the only representative of the Gallant Man sireline currently at stud. It's hard to pin these rare sirelines down.

Add Trail City to the list. Not sure why a stallion bred for turf and who did all his winning on turf would come to the NW, but he is.

That is an interesting point and one we thought about as well when we aquired Trail City. If you dive into the numbers though out of his 1.4 million in Progeny earnings about 1.2 of that is on the dirt. Aren't all foals born and raised on the grass then trained for the dirt? I hope we can get by the grass worries and look at how well bred he is. Plus again look at the numbers they run well on the dirt. More than likely what you will get is something that is versatile and can run on anything. He is also free of Northern Dancer and Mr. Prospector that will be nice for the northwest breeders.

As for value we still think our other boy Polish Gift is a great value as well. We should know in the next couple of weeks what Trail City will stand for.

I too like Polish Gift. I messed up when #30 yearling filly went thru the WTBA sale and only fetched $700. I had her marked in the book as a looker and wasn't paying attention. His other colt #61 brought a good price at $10,000.
