Posters here often mention a stallion's median earnings. But where does one find these tabulated? I don't find them in either The Blood-Horse or The Thoroughbred Times.
And while I'm at it, am I the only person annoyed by the penchant of those publications to create lists predicted on a stallion's total earnings? What with some stallions serving out-sized books of mares and having far more foals to race, it's a next to useless statistic. I'd have to guess that it pleases some big-bucks advertisers.
Thanks!

Median Earnings
If you run a stallion listed in Bloodhorse or Thoroughbred online directory it will provide you with the median earnings, as provided by Equineline, which provides statistics to The Jockey Club. The highlighted stallions are provided with free equineline statistics. Any that are not highlighted you would have to pay for the equineline report or go to Brisnet.
The significance of median earnings is really revealed in the stallion with one big horse, but the preponderance of horses are subpar in earnings. I think it's a very valuable statistic which should be included in the CTBA stallion directory statistics.
