Pedigree Query

Shanawi sells on Saturday. He's well-bred with earnings of $380,682, including a win in the mile and a half San Luis Obispo (G2T) in the good time of 2:24.4. He's by Caerleon, was bred by the Aga Khan and his second dam is a half-sister to the great Shergar.

Shanawi stood in FL and his first small crop raced in 2005 without much success. The following year (last year) he was bred to no mares. Does anyone know if this was the result of health or fertility problems? Or what? Any information would be appreciated.

Purchased by Canadian breeder Bruno Schickedanz for $1700.

Great source of turf stamina, should have gone to Chile, Turkey, India or New Zealand. I would like to drive down to Bruno Schickendanz farm just south of Ocala to check him out and see what gives. He buys several interesting lots for less than $2000 at that sale each year!
