Stark Ridge

I must admit the last year I havent been paying much attention to the Florida stallion market since I didnt breed this past year, but did Stark Ridge move to Arkansas?

If so, you AR breeders got a good one. Solid breed to race type for dirt cheap.

I made a post about Stark Ridge last year. In my system he scores extremely well with a very modest book of mares. He is a great "breed to race" stallion. I would definitely like to know if he moved to another state. Darn if it is Oklahoma.....

Both Blood Horse and Thoroughbred Times show he's standing at Kilkerry Farm, Royal, Arkansas. There's a typo showing him in Florida on one site that is clarified when you look further.

This is the information from The Thoroughbred Times.

Stark Ridge
1992, Lyphard's Ridge – Improvising, by Graustark
Standing at: Kilkerry Farm Inc.
2007 fee: $1,000
First Year at Stud: 1998

Kilkerry Farm Inc.
132 Running Deer Lane, Royal, AR 71968 USA
Phone: (501) 767-2285

His page in the Blood-Horse directory has the same address. It looks like he has moved.

The typo is what was throwing me off plus a lack of announcement to Florida breeders, although he was far from popular will be far from missed.

Arkansas breeders got a good one.

Looks like he moved to Arkansas. Is there much TB breeding in Ark? I wonder why the move? Florida looked like the perfect state for him. What a shame he couldn't get many or good mares to him, I certainly think he could throw you a useful race horse. I tried to send a mare to him last year but the farm he stood at had been sold and the owner was moving him to another farm in the area. Something else must have happened. If anyone breeds in the Arkansas area he is definitely worth the look. He won't be commercial but a great value at 1k and thanks for sharing the information.

Dont they have a fairly good stakes program in Oaklawn for Ark breds?
