Hi Guys,

What is everyone's view of Ecton Park as a sire?

I'm disappointed in EP overall. I had high hopes initially being a Forty Niner out of a Danzig mare bred like Distorted Humor, but he simply has yet to meet my expectations. Right now he's a $2,500 stud standing for $12,500. There are sevaral studs standing for under $5,000 that put him to shame performance wise i.e Wagon Limit, Intidab, Sweetsouthernsaint, Storm and a Half, Dance Master, Kipling among others. At $12,500 he's WAY over priced.

Word is the syndicate is looking to move him into a regional market
for the 2008 breeding season. I heard Ecton Park only got 40+ mares in 2007. Is this true? He bred 130 mares in 2006.

The syndicate looked at our farm in PA, but decided to keep him where he is for 08... maybe next year.
