Hi,

Any thoughts on this 2 million dollar earner full to the female 2 million dollar earner Beautiful Pleasure. Any thoughts on mares?

Personally, I love Mecke as a breed to race sire.

He gets a really big foal generally, sometimes they aren't especially correct but they can run. I have a Mecke yearling who is big AND correct and I like him a lot.

Mecke's aren't going to sell well, but trainers love them because they're real racehorses.

He's done well with mares from a variety of sire lines.

I wouldn't breed a real small mare to him, because the baby is liable to be so big that it could be a difficult delivery, and the more correct your mare is the better.

But if you're willing to race what your breed he's an awesome value.

They love the grass, although plenty of them do just fine on the dirt.

He has a nice grass 3yo out there right now named Pickapocket (out of an Honor Grades mare). Pickapocket didn't run well in the Hallandale Beach at Gulfstream yesterday, but he's a talented horse who should accomplish more (he's already a multiple SW).

So you think his daughters will make nice broodmares?
I went to see him the other day, I can not understand a horse that powerful and accomplished on the track is not in Kentucky he is every bit the horse that Holy Bull is and in the same class as Pleasant Tap

He was solely owned by the people who raced him, and now their estate as they passed away, so he was never heavily promoted or marketed.

If you've got a nice looking Mecke mare who could run a little she could very well make a nice broodmare.

Mecke is a very powerful looking horse with strong shoulders and good bone -- good choice for a mare who is a bit on the fine-boned end.

I had a Mecke filly that died as a weanling of Rhodacoccus. Mahubah is right. H e has the most bone of any horse
I have seen. He loks like he could run thru a brick wall without any problem. My filly was very correct and seemed athletic. I LOVE that stud.
