So who is going to be the big star sire out of our 2007 stallions standing for their first season?

I'd like to see Bachelor Blues succeed. It would be nice if Smoke Glacken turned out to be a sire of sires.

I see also that there's a new Broad Brush standing in Indiana for a private fee.

And I would like to see Cherokee's Boy do well, as I do like Citidancer.

And now for my non-obscure choice - Super Frolic. With stamina, wins on turf and dirt over some very good horses, and the durability to run on past four, a Danzig line sire out of a Mt. Livermore mare from family 1-x. I think the wins on both surfaces could set him up to be a good polytrack sire. He also did win a graded stakes at 2 years old, so could sire runners before the doubters start to weigh in. Can he go wrong?

My dead cert prediction is that Alumni Hall won't be a big star. My other dud? Da Stoops - I just wasn't impressed when I saw him race.

Two words. Proud Citizen.

Of course... I was also banking on Texas Glitter last year... feh.

You realize *I'M* the one she just had scramblig to figure out who you were talking about... and even I was stumped.

Did nobody know this horse when he was racing? He won several graded stakes on the turf and won almost a million. Very nice gsv and pretty good dam side. He won a race called the Pan American Handicap, and I can't believe that one's in India! Raced on till he was seven.

It's not like we have a lot of Broad Brush male progeny left here (Include, Mongoose, Dr. Litin are the only ones I can think of), really too bad that one's gone.

Oh and where I got the info? Bloodhorse Stallion Register, and if I had been reading it properly I would have realized it was IND not IN.

Nope, it's Saturday morning. (Well, OK, it was Friday night when you posted that.)

Please don't apologize. I had a crappy day and this board has vastly improved my mood tonight. I just didn't understand why I hadn't heard any buzz about the new stallion in Indiana!

Actually it's still Friday night in Spokane. 10.15, the night is still young, and oh yes I get to spend it with a rake!

Pure Prize has gotten off to a good start, so I don't see why Good Reward can't, as well. I'm no Storm Cat fan, but Good Reward was pretty durable and pretty versatile...and I can see him become a "polytrack" sire in the future. There aren't any top sires in the immediate family, but it's Phipps blue blood going back as far as you can - sooner or later, a top sire will pop up from it.

Well of course, my picks and pans, we'll have to wait a while to see how they do. Proud Citizen does look good, and we'll see about him soon enough.
