Looks like he's feeling up to getting his groove on again. Now these test breedings, these are just some mare that happens to get lucky right? I'm sure they just grab some QH mare whose owner wanted a nice foal but is there ever a time where they try a mare who might end up with a registered TB from the deal or is the point to not get some random TB pregnant? I guess the important thing would be a quiet mare who's gonna make nice and not screw around with the expensive recovering stallion.

I think I read (dont know if the same article) that they are taking mares up from the farm to RQ for the test breedings, so they are mares that were already booked to him. Just have to travel to get there.

The other option at New Bolton is to allow him to jump one of the mares there who had an overectomy [probably misspelled that] who is always in season & whose job is to be jumped by stallions in for fertility testing, and the like.

There is a very sweet older mare who is treated with a great deal of affection by the staff & whose job it is to be covered for whatever reason by whoever needs to jump her.

While New Bolton is only a couple hours from the farm where Real Quiet stands, it would probably be simpler to first take him the quarter mile or so from Dr. Richardson's part of New Bolton to the breeding facility to see if he's comfortable jumping mares, then bring in a couple mares, if they happen to be ready to breed when he's ready for the next test.

Well, however it's managed, it's good news that Real Quiet is feeling better. He's one of my favorites.

Me too . . .but mainly Quiet American...who doesn't see to get lots of respect here! At least not in the looks derpartment!
