hypomating information

Postby mightyhijames » Mon May 28, 2007 8:13 am

when i ran a hypomating (equine.com) for two different stallions with the same sire, the dosage and CD are different as are the color bars for the inbreeding. what do the different colors stand for?

The reason the dosage and center of distribution are different is because they are effected by the dam's influence.

The color is only a means of identifying the same horse in a pedigree. Which color is irrelevant - just that it is the same.

Yeah ; I've run into that same thing but fortunately only once. You may also run into a situation where the GSV shown on this site is different from that you would get from the farm website for a particular stallion. I've run into that as well and, as far as I know, the GSV numbers on this site are from 2005 as are probably the majority of the stallion websites. As I say I've only run into a difference once where the stallion website was actually updated. Guess that's for the GSV believers out there. :)
Bring 'em back tired ; but bring 'em back sound !
