Graded stakes winners Sligo Bay and Wiseman's Ferry were represented by their first winners June 1.

Sligo Bay's first winner, La Bonita Uno, won at 4 1/2 furlongs in :53 flat at Woodbine for Scarlett Lynne Hindmarsh in her initial outing. Bred in Ontario, Canada, by Frank Stronach's Adena Springs, La Bonita Uno is the first winner from the Siphon mare Polka Queen.

Irish-bred Sligo Bay (Sadler's Wells--Angelic Song, by Halo) stands for $7,500 at Adena Springs South near Williston, Fla.

Wiseman's Ferry's first winner, Fort Drum, scored at five furlongs in :58.74 at Belmont Park for TYB Stable in his initial start. Bred in New York by Denlea Park and South Gate, Fort Drum is the third winner from the stakes-placed Gulch mare Elmira Gulch.

Wiseman's Ferry (Hennessy--Emmaus, by Silver Deputy) stands for $8,500 at Dr. Tony Ryan's Castleton Lyons near Lexington.

Graded stakes-placed No Armistice was represented by his first winner May 31 at Pimlico when his daughter Valin Time won at 4 1/2 furlongs in :54 flat for Franklin D. Bennett at first asking. Bred in Maryland by David Daniel, Valin Time is the second winner from the Polish Numbers mare Court Tour.

No Armistice (Unbridled--Ataentsic, by Hold Your Peace) stands for $3,000 at the Pons' family's Country Life Farm near Bel Air, Md.


Good to see Sligo Bay get an early winner. He's dead commercially but I really like his chances as a breed to race type. Should be a good source of stamina in a breed to race program.

And everyone already knows my thoughts on Wiseman's Ferry. LOVE that horse.
