Are there any Kentucky stallions that can impart speed that carry Lalun but NOT through Never Bend?
I really want to pick up an RF to Lalun for a Riverman mare I have but she's full of stamina... need to put speed into her. The only thing that pops into my mind is El Prado but he would probably be over-breeding her a touch.
Thanks.

LaLun
Tough question. I could only think of 3 or 4 but doubt whether they possess the speed you need. They are: Perfect Soul, Powerscourt, Northern Spur in KY and Sligo Bay in FL. None seem very speedy.
Sorry not much help.

Darby Dan's Perfect Soul was a miler who broke the track record for a mile at Keeneland, which leads me to believe he has speed. Also his owner is offering a really good incentive to those breeders whose mares get a G-1 winner out of Perfect Soul.
I have two yearlings by Perfect Soul (bred before the offer was made!) a filly out of a Shadeed mare and a colt out of a Highest Honor mare and both foals have really good conformation. The Shadeed/Perfect Soul filly looks really flashy.

Bold Reason is another viable source of Lalun. Some stallions with Bold Reason in their pedigrees that might work are, Artie Schiller, Horse Chestnut, Lion Heart, Borrego, and Medaglia D'Oro.
Might be a little far back in the pedigree for you though.

Ile St Louis is a interesting pedigree play that I bet 90% of thoroughbred breeders know nothing about. His 3rd dam is Lalun & is by the vastly underrated sire Hussonet. He is not in KY & is far far less accomplished than any afore mentioned but was a G3 winner in SA & in a small first crop has had like 3 out of 4 winners from starters including a regional markrt stakes filly. He stands in Arkansas for like 1k, bet ya cant find any other tail female Lalun anywhere & he is of some quality & at a bargain basement stud fee.
I actually own a mare who's 4th dam is Lalun. She'll be going to Pleasant Tap next year after foaling a Northern Spur.
Funny enough, I actually know about this horse. Haven't seen him but was always very intrigued by his pedigree. He has every right to sire winners even with very mediocre mares.

Hallo,
I'm not sure whether my posting fits in about the broodmare "Lalun".
The only throughbred I came across with a tripöe of Lalun is the Germanbred filly Four Sins (by Sinndar). She is bred 4x4x5 Never Bend. She is owned by the Aga Khan and recently was 4thplaced in the "English Oaks".
A new stallion was purchase by the Isarland Stud in Germany. His name is Desert Prince, he is 4x4 Never Bend.
Saddex (by Saddlers Wells) was bred by the Niarchos Family, but has German owners, he is is 4x5 Lalun. He recently won the The Gran Prix de Chantilly (Group II) in France.
Never Bend is to find in European pedigrees mostly through his son Mill Reef. But I can imagine he is hard to find in the U.S.
Bold Reason is the damsire of Sadlers Wells and several of his relatives..
To the same branch of family 19-b belonged the French Sire Frontal (by Le Haar). He stood several years in Germany. If my memory don't fail me, his sister or a close relative was sent to my homecountry, too.
Best regards, Bettina

Kitten's Joy is another that has Lalun in his 5th remove.
