If you were the Sheikh...where would you stand Invasor?

Would you stand him back in South America where the purse structure doesn't support the stud fee he'd command?

Would you stand him in Kentucky and try to succeed where others with South American stallions have failed?

Would you stand him in Japan? Australia? Europe? California, maybe?

Would you buy select select South American mares to breed to him and not stand him commercially?

Any ideas? And if you'd stand him commercially, what fee would you charge?

He should stand him in the US. Regardless of what American breeders think of him, the Desert boys have more than enough mares to insure a great book. There's just no other viable market for him.

A great book of what mares compatible with him? And if he's bred commercially in Kentucky, what mares here should be bred to him?

I would look for ANYTHING with Pretty Polly. I would also bring in Nashua especially through Roberto, especially if Roberto is on top. Caro has also worked extremely well with Candy Stripes so I would look for more of that.

Other than that, I think its a toss up. But Roberto, Caro, and Pretty Polly are very good ways to go with known affinity in the blood.

What fee could he stand for in Argentina?

I think he should stand in Scotland. Close enough to tease the Irish magnates, handy for Europe - Norway just a step away. A quick trip across the Atlantic to Newfoundland for his holidays. And best of all, there's probably a great deal of steeplechasing outcross blood particularly near Ayr. If he bites anyone, they'll bite back so he'll have a good social life, never be short of a beer, and there's no grass greener in the world.

Seriously, I would be very sorry to see him leave North America, although I'd have to think a bit about his pedigree in terms of lines I'd like to see crossed with him.

I don't think Royal Academy stood in Argentina. I think he shuttled to Brazil.

As far as Invasor, I suspect that South Africa would love to have him. He'd be a dandy fit for all the Al Mufti and Badger's Drift mares and would be an interesting cross with mares carrying Argosy, Mexico II, and Jamaico. There are also quite a few Argentine-bred mares in the country carrying Ringaro and South African-bred mares by Spaceship (Lode out of a Ringaro mare). An enterprising breeder might try and find a couple of nicely-bred mares by Ethique (by Farnesio, a full brother to Empress Club) and give that cross a try. Candy Stripes has been incredibly successful with that family to the tune of Gr-1 full brothers Equipado and Equal Stripes.

He'd have to compete with sons of Jallad (Blushing Groom) and Candy Stripes sons Equipado and Lundy's Liability, but I think he would be extremely well-supported there.

Well the vast majority of new stallions fail anyway so you got to let him have his shot in KY. first (he does seem to like dirt racing) if it doesn't work out he would always have a home in South America.

what does that even mean?

I don't think Invasor would work on the shuttle in oz, he is too effective on dirt. We already had Leroi' as well, he was a turfer and from an outstanding family but he's not coming back either

Wallinga,

I see Fu Peg having a little success in Australia. More than Ready, as well. And Unbridled's Song, too. American dirt horses aren't welcome down there?

Danzig was "just" a dirt horse. How saturated is your nation with Danzig blood now?
