He's listed as private. Anyone know what seasons to him are going for?

I seem to remember $25k and that was the beginning of 06 I think...seemed like they also said he was booked full. Nice sire.

Maven, I love the "best in show" dam line also and followed your posts with a lot of interest re: the Rags to Riches connection to that dam family. Also, has anyone heard how Good Journey's 2 year olds are doing in Australia? They just started running and I believe the first one was a winner also. (Good Journey is Aldebaron's half brother I think).

I have no idea about the Good Journey's but I think his subsequent move to Australia was interesting. Im sort of surprised they didn't find a home for him in Kentucky. And thanks for the info on Indian Charlie. I've been hearing a few different fees on him and wanted to see what others thought.

Good Journey

Good Journey currently stands at Magali Farm, in Santa Ynez, Ca. for $7,500. Being a half brother to Alderbaran, to me is definitely an attraction.

The last stud fee I heard for Indian Charlie was $40,000. That was several months ago though.

Maven - I responded to your post on Aldebaron on the Indian Charlie thread - don't know HOW I did that. Sorry for the confusion and thanks others for responding re: Good Journey.

I was advised against breeding to him due to questionable soundness when I paid to have an analysis done on a mare several years back. He came back as a good match pedigree-wise, but the analyst suggested taking into serious consideration his soundness issues. Of course, since then I've seen several of his foals do well, and have wondered if those were the exception or the rule... :?: This would have been an analysis done for the breeding season of 2002.

In Excess and Indian Charlie are well known for passing on unsoundness. Whatever that means in a statistical sense. Apparently they are quite light boned in the legs.

Although I may not have been as eloquent in my opinion as Roke  , I completely agree.

Indian Charlie's are the most crooked legged things I've ever seen. There's not a mare on the planet with legs straight enough to counter that mess!!!

Indian Charlie can definitely sire a race horse. I have always heard that he is known for unsoundness in his progeny, but undeniably they can run. I've never seen him...is he crooked in front?

Well there's definately a good reason why his "walking video" is of him cantering in his paddock. Even at the canter they can't hide his stiff jerky movement!
