What can anyone tell me about him as a racehorse. I've seen his record and the horse himself, as well as his first foals. I wan't to send a mare to him this year here in oz, but obviously I don't have any anecdotal evidence of what he was like, who trained him etc

Any help would be great

A son of Southern Halo, he won several 2YO and early-season 3YO turf stakes. Trained by Todd Pletcher, my recollection of him was as a Grade III-type horse.

My impression of him was that he was overraced at 2 (nothing new for Todd Pletcher), and that his 3yo performances were likely compromised because of it. He showed great promise, however, and I thought he could develop into an important horse, especially given his pedigree. He won on turf, dirt and mud, short and long. I'd give him an excellent shot in Australi. What's his service fee?

he's dropped down to $7,700 from 13 odd (third season) I'm doing a bit of a deal though. He is a really nice type (his coat is glorious which I always take as an indicator of quality) and his first foals are absolute crackers. He must have been retired in August of our three year old year, because he's been out here since 2005 (to capitalise on the MTR craze that was gripping oz off the back of his first 2yolds) and interestingly he's not being shuttled which I think is a good thing.

He's not big, but a mare I have in mind for him is a big angular thing so that isn't terrible.

I've seen a few of his races, you guys in america seem to ask 2 year olds to extend over a bit more distance than we do, we only really have 3 decent races on the calendar over more than 1400m. he seemed to handle the racing alright though and it's a nice family.

Thanks for the feedback, interesting that Pletcher trained him.
