Sefapiano

What does everyone think of this guy and his offspring. He has always intriqued me with his stats and his gaudy SW %, I know it's padded by the state bred program but they do seem to be runners especially when considering the mares that have been bred to him. I have noticed he's had a few graded performers this year and Mom's Command who had been bred to many high dollar stallions never produced anything until her mating with Sefapiano (Jonesboro). Wonder what he could have done with some nice Kentucky mares. What does he look like and what type of foals does he throw? Where is he is he still alive?

I saw him several years ago when he was in Kentucky at Spendthrift I believe. I remember him as a really solid horse, very muscular, with a wide chest. Solid, solid, solid. He seemed the type that could provide substance when crossed with a mare who could use some "beefing up" of bone and muscle in her progeny.

He is the son of my favorite Mr. P's son, Fappiano. Fappiano is by far the most successful conduit when inbreeding to Mr. P and so Mr. P line mares would be good for him. Sefapiano has some pretty famous/successful brothers - Quiet American, Cryptoclearance, Rubiano and Unbridled so he clearly has at least some of the right stuff. And, you are right. He probably has not seen the best mares. Is he in Ky now? I thought he was in Florida, Texas or Louisiana somehow.

He stood at Moon Lake Equine Center in Louisiana last year. Give them a call and I am sure they can tell you where he is.

At one point he was at Ryder's River Ridge Farm in Louisiana. Maybe 2004? For all I know he's still there.

I really like Sefapiano on the artificial surfaces.
