New pictures... does he have a sabino gene?

Postby springboro » Sat Jul 28, 2007 7:25 pm

Hey, I have new pictures of my stallion, Native Rhythm. Can anyone tell me if he has the sabino characteristics? He does have lots of white hairs flecked through his coat.

Has he sired any foals with unique sabino markings?

What are sabino characteristics?

Postby TB Dreamin' » Sun Jul 29, 2007 5:14 pm

Would sabino characteristics be white hairs in a chestnut's mane/tail? I just bought a chestnut filly by Rodeo (by Gone West) and I can't get over all the white hairs. Thinking Marquetry could be a good cross for potential for white markings...hee hee! :D

Regardless if he has sabino traits or not he is lovely in his own right. Nice pedigree and good race record. Where is he going to stand and for what purpose? Regional race market? Good luck with him. I know how hard it is to get a stallion going!!

thanks.... I'm in the process of finalizing where he will stand in 2008. We're going to stay in Indiana and see what the new slots will have on the breeding industry.

I'll let you know when we are sure where he will stand.

Pointy leg markings, and white over the lip is a good indication that he either carries Sabino, or doesn't carry the things that supress Sabino.
