Let's look at the best foals out of Storm Cat mares (so far):
Buddha - 4 starts
Jump Start - 5 starts
Folklore - 8 starts
Half Ours - 7 starts
Notice a trend?

I was so waiting for you to bring up Speightstown. He raced until he was six...only because he missed two years while recovering from surgery.

Nobiz is still racing, he won a turf race last week. However we haven't yet heard a 'fractured leg' story yet, or at least I haven't.

Exceptions to the rule I've found:
Unfurl the Flag: 26 starts to date, including a grade I win
Mujahid: group I winner; 12 starts.
Phalaenopsis - Japanese champion: 16 starts
Sunday Break: grade II winner, 12 starts
Note: 12 starts aren't a lot, but they're better than 8 starts, like Buddha's record.

He is an Argentine bred and no matter how I try, I cannot get the JC to recognize his races aligned with his SA age at the time. It was the FOUR year old year that got curtailed, somehow when he was imported to the US he lost a year.

Madelyn, that happens to all SH-bred horses. The US Jockey Club just doesn't seem to recognize the September 1 birthday for registered SH-bred horses. You'll notice that Horse Chestnut has that same thing...he was technically a 4yo when he won the Broward, even though he was listed as a 5yo.
Speaking of Horse Chestnut, his multiple graded stakes winning son Duveen is out of a Storm Cat mare. He's made 8 starts as of the 16th of June, and is still running.

Buddha is a wreck. Can sell it however, but when I saw him shortly after he got to H’n D, he had… hmmmm… issues. Even his video was bad.
Sunday Break could probably have gone more often and for longer, but no need. He is a solid looking critter.
Rocking Trick had the SA thing. Apparently, he also had some other, trainer related, issues. I’ve spoken to Madelyn about such and she is being kind. He is a very solid, very sound looking critter. If he were given 30% of Buddha’s book he would be a star. Hands down he is better than many stallions standing at the “elite” farms.
Jump Start should have never been pushed so hard so young. However, DWL always said it was his job to make stallions. Jump Start is a fantastic looking specimen. Of course, his family looks a little fragile, but it might be possible the same trainer trained many of them. Personally, I think it a case of too much size and talent being pushed too hard… something usually gives…
Actually, I think we will see Storm Cat’s legacy be two-fold. I think he will prove to be a better broodmare sire than stallion-sire. Rok… I don’t think you can argue that point. Of course, this may have as much, if not more, to do with his books of mares than him… but that is another point. I also tend to think, in years down the road, we will see him as a broodmare sire to at least a couple quality stallions.
I used to think we would see him as more of a tail-male grandsire of something special… but at this point, I don’t know which of his sons will prove that good…. Probably Forestry or Giant’s Causeway.
