KIROV DANSEUR

Anyone know anything about this unraced son of Nureyev? Family of champions POLISH PRECEDENT and INTIKHAB. He stood at the University of Kentucky.

Any information appreciated.

Well... I found out my own answer. The unraced Kirov Danseur, son of Nureyev, only had one foal--my mare Helen O. She is his sole runner, winner, whatever.

I don't know that I've ever heard of a stud only having one foal. Usually I'm very picky with what stallions my mares are by, but her distaff is so strong I was willing to give it a chance. (Her dam was the champion 2 year old from Argentina in 1980. )

She's going to primarily be my riding horse, but I might entertain breeding her to the right stud.

If he stood at a university, there is a good chance that he had other foals, just not thoroughbreds. Might be worth checking to see if he stood to the sporthorse market (in case you have a future foal to market!).

He shows as having a report of mares bred for 1998, 1999, and 2000. Perhaps he had fertility issues?
